Leesburg, FL – Patrick Holmes Killed in Pedestrian Accident on US-27

Leesburg, FL (September 1, 2020) – Around 10 p.m. last night, August 31, a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Leesburg.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, the accident took place when a 54-year-old man was crossing the street on US-27 at Griffin Road and was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 18-year-old Patrick Holmes, who remained at the scene of the accident.

The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital in Leesburg where he passed away due to his injuries.

Police did not comment on whether or not the driver involved in the accident will be facing any charges.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
