DeLand, FL (August 13, 2020) – This morning, a hit-and-run crash happened at an intersection in DeLand that led to injuries.
The accident, according to authorities, took place around 11:38 a.m. when two vehicles collided at the intersection of East New York Avenue and Kepler Road. Though police have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances leading up to the accident, it is believed that a vehicle struck another and then fled the scene of the accident.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. There, they found that one or more victims in the vehicle that remained at the scene received injuries. The extent of the injuries is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police did not yet say if they found the party responsible for the accident.
No further details have been provided but the investigation continues at this time.
