Winter Garden, FL (May 14, 2020) – Around 2:30 a.m. this morning, one person lost their life in a fatal truck accident on Florida’s Turnpike in Winter Garden.
According to police, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of traffic when a food truck and a dump truck collided with one another.
The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of the accident where they were able to determine that a truck collided with the rear-end of the other truck. The accident was so forceful that both of the vehicles overturned and crashed.
A 58-year-old man from West Palm Beach was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A 27-year-old man from New Port Richie was tragically pronounced deceased due to the accident.
Numerous lanes of traffic were closed down for several hours after the collision.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
