Silver Springs, FL (November 8, 2020) – Around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, November 7, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Silver Springs.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 314 around the area of Northeast 52nd Place. At the time, a motorcycle was headed north as an SUV was headed south. Police confirmed that, for reasons that are not yet known, the motorcycle and the SUV collided head-on with one another.
The vehicles collided so forcefully that both of them were thrown off the side of the road with serious damages.
The driver of the motorcycle, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver and passenger in the SUV were both injured but they are expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
