Sanford, FL (October 15, 2020) – Around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, a man was killed in a fatal accident in Sanford.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 58-year-old man was riding in the back of a pickup truck when an SUV struck the pickup truck. The man was suddenly thrown onto State Road 417.
At the time, both the vehicles were headed southbound when the SUV collided with the back of the truck. The man who was in the back of the pickup truck was ejected onto the road, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as a 31-year-old woman from Orlando and the driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 79-year-old Orlando man. Both of them suffered from minor injuries.
The southbound lanes of traffic were closed for an extended period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the accident.
