Port Orange, FL (September 14, 2020) – On Sunday, September 13, a man was killed in a fatal rollover accident in Port Orange.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 1:45 p.m. when a male driver was headed southbound on I-95. His vehicle and another car in front of him collided for reasons that are not yet known.
After the two vehicles collided, the first car swerved while the driver attempted to gain control. His vehicle went into the median and struck several trees. This caused the vehicle to overturn, where it landed upside-down in a filled ditch.
The male driver’s condition is not yet known. However, it was confirmed that a male passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital and died while there.
The roadway was closed down in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
