Daytona Beach, FL – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash at US-1 Intersection

Daytona Beach, FL (September 15, 2020) – Around 5:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, September 14, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Daytona Beach.

The accident, according to officials, took place at the intersection of US-1 and Magnolia Avenue. A local 73-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection headed east to west. She was knocked to the ground by a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was making a right turn at the intersection.

The pedestrian suffered from a traumatic head injury. She was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, who was identified as a man from Ormond Beach, was not injured in the accident. He did remain at the scene to cooperate with the police.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
