Okeechobee, FL – Multi-Vehicle Rollover Injury Crash on Florida’s Tpke

Okeechobee, FL (July 22, 2020) – Around 10:39 a.m. this morning, officials responded to a serious rollover crash involving multiple vehicles in Okeechobee.

According to authorities, the collision occurred at 272 Florida’s Turnpike (Sunshine State Parkway) when multiple vehicles collided in a chain-reaction collision for reasons that are not yet known.

One of the vehicles involved in the accident was forced off of the roadway, where it crashed into a wooded area and immediately overturned. The vehicles involved were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene where they assisted four patients with injuries. Two trauma alerts were taken by both ambulance and a medical helicopter. Two additional patients were transported to the hospital by ambulances with serious injuries. Their current conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area between SR-429 and West Colonial North until police were able to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
