Kissimmee, FL – Construction Worker Killed in Pedestrian Crash on S Poinciana Blvd

11.21 Clermont, FL – Pedestrian Accident at FL-50 and Grand Hwy Intersection

Kissimmee, FL (October 23, 2020) – Around 6:55 a.m. on Friday morning, October 23, a construction worker was killed in a pedestrian crash in Kissimmee.

The accident took place at the intersection of South Poinciana Boulevard and Rail Circle in a construction zone. Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed that a 71-year-old man from Kissimmee was driving south in the area while the 43-year-old Longwood construction worker was trying to stop traffic in the area.

As the man was standing on the roadway and directing traffic, the vehicles in the left lane stopped but the traffic in the right lane did not. The driver immediately collided with the worker.

The construction worker was rushed to Osceola Regional Hospital with traumatic injuries but later passed away.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the man remained at the scene of the accident. He was not injured.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
