Daytona Beach, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Mason Ave Intersection

Daytona Beach, FL (June 22, 2020) – Around 1:16 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 20, a fatal pedestrian accident took place at a Daytona Beach intersection.

The Daytona Beach Police Department responded to the scene of the accident, which took place at the intersection of Mason Avenue and North Beach Street when a man was struck by a vehicle.

Police confirmed that the man, identified only as a local 23-year-old, was lying in the median around the area of the intersection. He tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities believe that the man was attempting to cross the roadway on foot when the vehicle struck him. It is not known if the vehicle remained at the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation is currently ongoing.
