Winter Garden, FL (September 9, 2020) – Around 5:55 a.m. yesterday morning, September 8, a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Winter Garden.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Hyde Park Circle. Two people were walking at the intersection and pushing bicycles alongside them when a female pedestrian in her 60s was struck by a westbound vehicle.
One of the pedestrians was not injured but the woman in her 60s suffered from traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian suffered only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Eastbound lanes around the area of the intersection were closed down for some time while police cleared the roadway.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
