Sanford, FL (November 23, 2020) – Around 5 p.m. on Sunday evening, November 22, a fatal pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Sanford.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place at the intersection of CR-46 and Arbor Lakes Circle. Police said that a 34-year-old man was driving his 2003 Nissan east when he suddenly lost control. His vehicle struck a curb and then a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead while there.
The driver and his passenger, identified as a 26-year-old man, were not injured but remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
The driver is now facing charges.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
