Port St. John, FL (October 13, 2020) – Around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday night, October 11, two people were killed in a fatal crash in Port St. John.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place on the Kings Highway around the area of Kuesaw Lane. A 58-year-old woman with her 59-year-old male passenger was driving an SUV and traveling behind a second SUV. The second SUV started to slow down and the first SUV collided with its rear.
The first SUV then traveled into the eastbound lane of traffic where a third SUV was unable to stop in time and slammed into the vehicle head-on.
The first SUV overturned off the side of the road. First responders were present at the scene and the man and woman inside were pronounced dead due to severe injuries.
No other parties were injured but they remained at the scene of the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
