Port Orange, FL – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-95

Port Orange, FL (July 30, 2020) – Around 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday night, July 28, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a Port Orange highway.

The crash, according to police, took place in the northbound lanes of I-95 headed toward the Ormond Beach area when the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that a 93-year-old man from Pompano Beach got out of his vehicle, which was disabled in the left travel lane of I-95. He was suddenly struck by a 23-year-old Palm Coast woman who did not stop in time.

The pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The female driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Police claim that the woman struck the pedestrian, as well as his disabled vehicle when she was unable to stop.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
