Orlando, FL (July 24, 2020) – Around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, July 22, a woman was killed in a fatal three-vehicle crash in Orlando.
The woman, identified as a 35-year-old, was involved in the crash when three vehicles collided, sending one vehicle flying off the side of FL-400 around the Sand Lake Road area.
According to police, a 25-year-old Orlando man was driving west when his vehicle struck the back of the vehicle in front of him being driven by the 35-year-old woman. The woman had been slowing down so that she could pull over and help a broken-down SUV on the side of the shoulder.
The woman was immediately ejected from her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries but tragically passed away while there.
The car that struck her vehicle went through a fence off the side of the road where it stopped near Turkey Lake Road in the area. The driver suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV, identified as a 32-year-old, also suffered minor injuries.
The accident closed down a portion of the road for several hours. The interstate was later reopened.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
