Orlando, FL – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Sand Lake Rd

Orlando, FL (September 11, 2020) – Around 6:05 a.m. early Thursday morning, September 10, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Orlando.

The accident, according to police, took place on Sand Lake Road around the area of Orange Blossom Trail. Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed that a 50-year-old Orlando woman was driving her vehicle headed west on Sand Lake when a pedestrian was crossing the street in the area.

The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle. She has since been identified as a 49-year-old Orlando woman who had been crossing the street from south to north.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police said that the driver was not injured and remained at the scene of the collision. The roadway was closed down in several lanes in the area.

The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
