Orange City, FL (June 1, 2020) – Around midnight this morning, a fatal pedestrian accident took place on Enterprise Road in Orange City.

Police confirmed that a 41-year-old officer with the Orange City Police Department was driving his marked SUV headed southbound on Enterprise Road. He was responding to a call at the time.

A 51-year-old woman from Edgewater was crossing the road when she was suddenly struck by the officer’s vehicle.

The officer was not injured but the pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
