Melbourne, FL (June 23, 2020) – Around 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, a pedestrian accident led to serious injuries in Melbourne.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place when a police officer was responding to a call and struck an 18-year-old woman.
The officer was allegedly on his way to investigate a disturbance at a bar. The victim was running across the roadway on Aurora Road when she was struck.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries but is expected to recover.
Police continue their investigation of the accident at this time.
