Fort Pierce, FL (September 18, 2020) – Around 4:50 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 17, a serious pedestrian accident with injuries took place in Fort Pierce.
The accident took place at 100 US-1 when a 55-year-old male pedestrian from Orlando was walking in the area on a sidewalk. Out of nowhere, a 39-year-old woman from Stuart veered off the road, striking the man and a palm tree.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported him to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute where he remains in critical condition at this time.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 2007 Lincoln sedan, was also hospitalized with injuries. She has not yet been charged.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
