Fort Pierce, FL – Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on FL-713

11.2 Titusville, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at S Hopkins Ave Intersection

Fort Pierce, FL (April 18, 2020) – The Florida Highway Patrol assisted at the scene of a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash on FL-713 in Fort Pierce.

At the time, an unknown vehicle was headed south on the highway while a pedestrian was walking along the sidewalk. The front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, tossing him onto the shoulder.

The vehicle did not stop but a passerby came along and found the injured victim. The victim was immediately taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and he was pronounced deceased.

Authorities continue to look for a vehicle with front damage.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
