Cocoa, FL (September 5, 2020) – This morning, September 5, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a highway in Cocoa.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the pedestrian, identified as a 25-year-old man, was initially involved in a crash with another vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-95. He pulled over onto the shoulder and so did the other vehicle.
The unidentified pedestrian got out of his vehicle and started to cross the lanes of the highway. As he was doing so, he was struck by a passing vehicle.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident where they pronounced the pedestrian deceased. Nobody else was harmed as a result of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in numerous lanes as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
