Clearwater, FL (October 25, 2020) – Around 10:10 p.m. on Saturday night, October 24, a fatal bicycle accident occurred on a roadway in Clearwater.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place on South Garden Avenue. A vehicle was headed north on Spring Garden while a second vehicle was also headed north in a different lane.
Suddenly, the cyclist exited a private driveway and attempted to cross a street. He entered the outside lane of traffic when he was hit by the first vehicle. He was then propelled into the inside lane and was struck by a second vehicle.
The bicyclist, who was only identified as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
