The Villages, FL (November 1, 2020) – Around 11:20 a.m. on Friday, October 30, a serious hit-and-run bicycle accident occurred in The Villages.

Two people were riding their bikes together on Morse Boulevard around the area of Bonita Boulevard. A white Mercedes struck the two bicyclists from behind. Florida Highway Patrol deputies confirmed that the driver of the Mercedes got out of her vehicle and then fled the scene of the accident.

The two bicyclists were struck with such force that they were ejected from their bikes. Both suffered from serious injuries and were hospitalized. They have since been identified as a 68-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
