10.19 Kissimmee, FL – Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Simpson Rd

Merritt Island, FL (July 31, 2020) – Around 9:50 a.m. yesterday morning, July 30, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Merritt Island.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision happened on the North Courtenay Parkway around the area of Myrtice Avenue. The motorcyclist was traveling south when a passenger vehicle started making a left turn at the intersection. This put the 78-year-old driver in the motorcyclist’s path.

The front of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the vehicle. The motorcyclist, identified as a 64-year-old Merritt Island man, was immediately rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. He tragically succumbed to his injuries while there.

The woman driving the passenger vehicle was not injured.

The roadway was closed down in the area for a period of time. Police continue their investigation into the accident.
