Daytona, FL – Kanadei Benjamin and Child Killed in Fatal Collision

Daytona, FL (April 5, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman and child were killed in a fatal collision that took place at an unidentified area of Daytona.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that a man was attempting to flee police when the accident occurred. Police tried to stop 33-year-old Nelson Reed on Wednesday night, when a pursuit suddenly broke out. Reed continued east but struck a vehicle.

The vehicle was being driven by 37-year-old Kanadei Benjamin. Her child, identified as Zoe Chi, was also in the vehicle. Due to the severity of the accident, both Benjamin and the child died at the scene.

Reed and his passenger both suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized. He is currently facing charges at this time.

The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
