Cocoa Beach, FL (July 5, 2020) – Around 12:21 p.m. on July 3, a girl was injured in a hit-and-run boating accident that took place on the water on Cocoa Beach.
The 14-year-old girl was swimming when she was struck by a boat that was traveling through the area. The boater did not remain at the scene of the accident.
Around 10:30 p.m. that night, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office located the boater responsible for the accident, and charges were filed.
The girl was transported to the hospital with traumatic injuries due to the collision.
Police confirm that the investigation into the accident continues.
